Citizenship is one of the newer progression systems in MapleStory Classic World, and it gives players another reason to interact with the towns they visit during their early adventures. The system was first introduced during the closed beta and functions somewhat like a structured collection of daily and weekly activities. At first, it may sound like another routine players have to maintain, but the actual tasks are fairly simple and can provide useful rewards as your character develops.

For players learning how the system works, MapleStory Classic World Items are also connected to the broader progression experience because citizenship grades gradually unlock access to additional town shops and benefits. Understanding when citizenship becomes available, how grades work, and which town fits your character can help you avoid unnecessary expenses later.

Unlocking Citizenship

The citizenship system becomes available once your character reaches level 12. At that point, you can begin the quests associated with becoming a citizen. Currently, Henesys and Kerning City are the two towns involved in the system, giving new characters two different paths to consider.

For Henesys citizenship, players need to speak with Arthur. His location can be found through a new portal positioned in the middle of Henesys. Kerning City citizenship requires talking to Roxy, who is located at a newly added area on the right side of Kerning City.

You can complete the relevant quests before making your final selection. However, your character can only hold citizenship in one town at a time, so the choice is worth considering rather than making it randomly.

Choosing Between Two Towns

The recommended choice can depend on your character's class and the benefits you expect to use most frequently. Warriors and bowmen generally have a natural connection with Henesys, while thieves and mages may find Kerning City more suitable.

This does not mean other classes cannot select either town. The system does not prevent you from choosing a different citizenship based on your personal preferences. Players who care about convenience, shop access, or the atmosphere of a particular town can make their decision accordingly.

Changing citizenship is possible as well. Your first citizenship switch is free, which gives you some flexibility if you realize that your initial choice does not suit your character. Later changes require a fee of 50,000 mesos or more, with the exact cost depending on your current citizenship grade.

Understanding Citizenship Grades

Citizenship progression is divided into ten grades. Everyone begins at grade one, known as Traveler, and gradually works toward grade ten, Citizen of Honor. Each higher grade has a character-level requirement, with five additional levels generally needed for each new tier.

For example, grade two, Visitor, requires level 17. Grade three, Helpless Stranger, becomes available at level 22. The progression continues until grade ten, Citizen of Honor, which requires level 57.

These requirements make citizenship a system that naturally develops alongside your character. You do not need to rush through everything immediately after unlocking it. Instead, you can continue leveling while completing the activities associated with your current grade.

Benefits That Add Up

Higher citizenship grades provide access to more products from the special NPC shops. The system also introduces several smaller economic benefits, including discounts on certain shop purchases, taxi costs, and storage fees.

None of these bonuses completely changes the way you play the game. However, small savings can become meaningful when repeated over many play sessions. Players who frequently travel between towns, store equipment, or purchase useful supplies may notice the benefits more clearly.

The system therefore works best as a long-term convenience feature rather than a major source of power. It rewards consistent participation without requiring players to dedicate large amounts of time to complicated objectives.

Simple Daily Progress

Raising your citizenship grade requires completing daily and weekly activities. Fortunately, the daily portion is much easier than the name might suggest. Instead of repeatedly hunting monsters or collecting large quantities of materials, the current daily task can simply involve speaking with an NPC in your citizenship town.

That makes the daily routine extremely quick. Players receive a small amount of experience and mesos along with several potions, allowing the activity to fit naturally into an ordinary play session.

The system is especially convenient for players who do not want another lengthy checklist. A short conversation with an NPC can be enough to complete the daily requirement, making it easy to remember and maintain.

Building Long-Term Progress

Citizenship is ultimately designed around gradual progression. Reaching level 12 unlocks the system, while continued leveling opens additional grades. Completing simple daily and weekly activities then helps you move through those grades over time.

Players buy MSCW Items should therefore view citizenship as a supporting system rather than something that needs to dominate their gameplay. Pick the town that makes sense for your character, complete the available activities when convenient, and allow the benefits to accumulate naturally.

As your grade increases, access to additional purchases and discounts makes the system more useful. Players who want to manage their resources efficiently can use these benefits to reduce some of the routine costs associated with transportation, storage, and supplies.
